Dr. Michaels founded Zuri-Invest AG in 1980 with its investment philosophy of investing in blue chip stocks complemented by attractive investment opportunities in specialized fields such as the precious metals and resource sector but also fields such as Biotech and Technology companies. Dr. Michaels pursued a successful career on Wall Street where he was in charge of an entire division dedicated to trading as well as to leading his teams into the start of a wider use of mutual funds for retail and institutional investors. During that time he also assisted the principals of his employer on their private investments which included the ownership of Gold mines in North America. When Dr. Michaels moved his center of interest to Switzerland, he dedicated several years into a partnership which solely focused on financing North American mining companies where 2.3bln USD were raised together with fellow European investors.

Mr. Michaels has been active in asset management for the past 17 years and has extensive experience in the fields of mining finance, fund management and asset allocation. Mr. Michaels has a background in law and economics and did his training in the areas of private banking and investment research at UBS in Zurich. Additionally, he attended post-graduate courses at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Mr. Michaels also serves on the boards of GoldQuest Mining Corp. and Steppe Gold Ltd.
Additionally he is on the board of the charitable organization of Cyprus Seeds.
